Chris and Jon find FitTV

Christopher and Jonathan find Fit TV and start exercising

They really seemed to like exercise and were so proud of their muscles and strength, after 2 more episodes with some Gilad guy I had to change the channel or they would have been exercising all day, its not like they're already skin and bones. oh and muscle. Maybe next week I can get a whole 30min workout video with them...

Hello again. We are all alive and well and so far seemed to have weathered the storm of moving. The first part of July we became the new tenents of a lovely 3brm home w/ a fenced yard and a pen with a small Barn. We had some difficulty getting the Internet, Phone, and Cable squared away, but we finally have service mostly. We did get Internet and DSL via Verizon since the Cable company wouldn't allow us to hook up new service until the previous tenet disconnected their. We tried to get Direct TV but the location of the house, in a hollow, is hidden by trees to the north and south. Cable is still up and running here and the Tech for DTV said would probably stay on as the cable company doesn't typically come out and check on it... As far as unpacking boxes and getting settled we have been slowing moving forward. I have become a regular Handy Manny, I have installed a new kitchen sink, Faucets in two bathrooms, power washed the deck and the house exterior, built numerous book shelves and even assembled a bunk bed and other various furniture and such. So far We have completed the Living room, Kitchen, Dining room, Utility room and the Boys room. Whats left office, our bedroom, spare bedroom, and front living room, shed and barn. I plan on taking some pictures over the next couple days of the place and us and posting them so keep a look out... That's all for now there is much more but my fingers are getting tired... ;)

Update.... Now those of you without Google accounts can leave comments so please comment away...

False Start

Well today was going to be the day we move into our new apartment. The owner was going to call around 10:30 and check out time was 11. So in high anticipation we moved everything out of our room and nearly checked out... when Naomi got the call and it was not going to happen today.... oh by the way she was off today.

So it looks like after 10 tomorrow we should be able to move in no problem... We moved back into the hotel with just the necessities.

We did make a day of it by driving around our new city looking for parks and going back to mound park... i.e. the one with all the castles/ towers. The boys had fun playing and the dogs got brushed while we were there. We left the park and dropped the dogs and cats off at the hotel room.

For lunch we stopped at pizza hut just barely hitting the buffet, and to our suprise we met Gail, Tim, Angie, and Terri, from the clinic. After lunch we came back and all took a much needed nap...

One more night... I hope....

Hotel Life

Well its been 2 days since Naomi started and so far things are going well. She is learning the system and had the honors of being perceived as a super vet.... As the clinic was over booked today by quite a bit and Monday was not slow either as She didn't make it home till after 7pm....

I on the other hand caught a case of fever and was nothing more than bed ridden on Monday, luckily for me the boys were in good moods and didn't mind staying in... The pool here is closed do to a chemical issue but the Manager said it was nothing but BS from the health inspector and she has had trouble with him before... He seems to be taking his time... She said the pool was fine and if we wanted to sneak in after 4:30 or so she didn't have a problem with that.

Today the boys and I went to the large park down in Portsmouth and they had a lot of fun... The play area was made of wood and had several castles and bridges and such. I forgot the camera so no pictures...

I will be glad when we can finally move into a permanent residence not that I don't like the Hotel but it is quite cramped for 2 cats, 2 dogs, the boys and us... The animals are doing quite nicely though and you'd think the cats had lived here for years... I guess after the trip here there isn't much new you can through at them.

Made it to Ohio

We made it to OHIO.... We left about 12:30pm on Thursday the 12th and stopped for a hour and a half nap at 6am Friday morning just past Indianapolis. We were about an 80 miles form Portsmouth when I got seperated from Naomi, I thought the sign said US 52 crossed the river... So I went across the river and it was HWY 62 so Naomi continued East on 52 and I tried taking some Kentucky Hwys and got lost in the hills. Luckily Some saw me driving in circles and stopped to give me directions. So I made it about 15 min after Naomi... good thing they don't patrol those state roads... as I drove a little faster than the speed limit to make up time.

We are staying in the Holiday Inn Express as the apartment we where supposed to be moving into is now not going to be available until the 21st... Gail, Tim and his wife Crystal have been real helpful through this situation. Last night they brought what seems like half of the grocery store so we would have food to eat... The boys got started right away and ate an entire box of fruit snacks.

The Hotel knows us as the dog bandits because they do not allow pets but made an exception for us. Everyone got to meet the dogs yesterday when Naomi left to meet Gail, Tim and Crystal, Jonathan wanted to go with mommy. While I was on the phone, Jonathan decided he would go down there too and opened the door. Dodger and Jasmine where waiting for this opportunity and slipped out the door, running down the hallway and then down the stairs. I called Naomi and she caught them before they went outside...

So we are semi homeless but are managing thanks to everyone.

Update

Well, I passed my Kansas licensing examination and the grueling 8 hour, 360 question torture session they call the National Boards. I graduated Friday from KSU-CVM with my DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree so now, I am a licensed veterinarian in the State of Kansas. My next step is to become licensed in Ohio as I have accepted a position at Shawnee Animal Clinic in Portsmouth, OH. I am to start on June 15. We will be moving from Ogden, KS, our home for 5 years to Portsmouth, OH in early June. It is a big step and we are super excited! Pictures will hopefully be coming soon!

Yay!

Today was exciting! I got my first e-mail from a potential employer that saw my resume' on my vet school website (Hire a K-State Grad)! Sometime soon, I hope to have a phone chat with them. I continue to search for the right job that I KNOW is out there for me. Although I am still unsure of what I want to do, I am keeping an open mind and exploring all of my options (small animal, large animal, mixed, birds, cattle, horses, government (i.e. USDA), industry).

In light of my many options and all the indecision surrounding them, I feel compelled to conduct an unofficial poll. :-) Please comment back with your answer to the following 2 questions: 1. If you were a veterinarian, what kind would you like to be? 2. If I were a veterinarian, what kind do you think I would I be?

On a different subject not quite so self-centered...

All of us like to contribute to good causes. Well, I found one that is great! The best part is, you can contribute without spending a penny or any more time than about a minute a day. Go to
this site and click where it says "Click to Give" and the sponsors will contribute...all based on the number of clicks! Across the top of the page there are other sites (Hunger, Child Health, Literacy, Rainforest, and Animal Rescue) where you can do the same "Click to Give" with only giving a few moments of your time to make a difference in this world.
