Good-bye, November...

November was a fun month. Katie, my niece, turned 4. The boys and their cousins on this side of the family had a lot of fun at her party, especially playing with her toys. I started a new rotation, Food Animal Medicine and Surgery. It has been a good learning experience and reinforces my previous desire to work on cattle. Ben gave several presentations on the program he built at work and has since converted the system over so it is up and running full time now. We are very proud of him! He is amazing at his job. Ben, Christopher, and Jonathan went to Hutchinson for Thnksgiving Day to eat with and visit Granny and Uncle Alan. Miriam, Mashalla, Jojo, and Anna Gogadi were there. Rebecca Reid was there. Brandon, Hannah, and Katie Unruh were there. Then they traveled to Melvern to visit my Dad and stepmom Kathy, stepsister Amy, Grandma Dewey, Aunt Pat, and Aunt Kay. They had the Thanksgiving meal on Saturday. Christopher actually rode on a horse all by himself (with someone leading the horse, of course). I stayed in Manhattan to help care for my patients in the hospital (a mother Alpaca and her cria (baby)), but Miriam brought me back some leftovers so I had my own "real" Thanksgiving dinner, too. It was fun and December should prove to be a fun month as well.

Blah, Blah, Blah

So I finally figured out my user name and password on how to get into this blog so I could post again....... Ok so I just haven't really tried but give me a break I made no promises... This last week was interesting as skipped work on Tuesday, then thought Wednesday was Thursday. I had an eye doctor appointment on Thursday for which I left 30 min earlier than I planned just to make sure I had everything. Which I didn't and had to drive back to work to get ins. paperwork. I get to the appointment and find out I scheduled it for Friday. To which I was confused as I said I am sure I had rescheduled it for Thursday. Last Thursday I didn't have my ins. info and didn't want to pay out of pocket. Their response was today is Wednesday.. So needless to say I had to go home and relive Thursday all over again. Thankfully the weekend finally came and so the big upsets I watched college football on Saturday to see two great upsets by CU and KSU go Cats.... now we are ranked 24th on the ap. woohoo. Sunday was fun I skipped church to clean and then played softball that evening and Christopher came to cheer me on. He sat with his Sunday school teacher. We lost but highlights I hit a grand slam over the fence in the first and an in the park home run in the third, another of our teammates hit 2 home runs over the fence one dinked the top and fell over. I was very, very sore this morning and can't believe I made it to work early, but now starts another week and I will try to post more often now I can get in.

Ben

PS I will post again with some pics from Pittsburgh.

Recap

Christopher decided to get up a little extra early today to watch Playhouse Disney. Last night I told him if he would go to sleep instead of trying to stay awake he could go to sleep and wake up earlier. So he could watch cartoons before going to school. He did in fact fall asleep rather quickly, and was up at 5:30 to watch the cartoons as promised.

They both love to hear stories and so last night I read a Disney Nursery Rhymes book and they both enjoyed it, so tonight I thougt I would try reading Brer Rabbit. Dem chiln's sur did a list'n der be tids a bit a blim, blam violent talkin' but sur kep'em list'n, parle cuz dey dent know twad I be da sayin's... The story was quite funny as Brer Rabbit out smarted Brer Fox and Brer Bear at their own mischievous plot.
