It's gettin' hot in here...

So back in May our A/C was on the fritz and would freeze up and then it would get ella hot. So we tried to get it fixed but to no avail as it had a bad leak. So the landlord had it replaced with some kind of super duper heat pump 3000 thing-a-ma-jiggy. This was toward the middle of June, so when we got back from vacation it was nice and cool........... Then NAOMI cooked a pot of chili. Emphasis here is in jest in reality we don't know what caused it to freeze up like a giant block of ice. When I came home Tuesday it was nearly 80F so I asked Naomi what was wrong. We turned off the a/c after seeing the problem. The a/c guys that installed it came by and checked it out and said the would call the landlord and get back with us
......s.....t.....i.....l.....l.........w.....a.....i.....t.....i.....n.....g.............

So Wednesday the boys slept on the spare bed because it was to hot on thier bunk beds. Last night the boys slept on the floor next to the box fan and Naomi was on the couch. I slept on the bed drenching in sweat. Waking up in this kinda heat feels like waking up in the middle of a shower, your wet, except you don't smell better afterwards.

So I have decided.

Ifs dey's ain't gon'ter fixee de dim t'ing den we gon'ter git dur slep en'dur de staz in de tind.

Translation: We're going to sleep in a tent outside.

Flashbacks to Kansas

Over the weekend, Saturday to be exact, I thought we where magically back in Kansas. Between 3 and 5:30 in the afternoon we were under a tornado warning. Now I thought we moved away from tornadoes but I guess not. One did touch down and hit Waverly, to the North of us, and Wheelersburg, to the East. Luckily for us we missed out. I would have to say that in the event one did come by it would be gone before we knew what hit us. At least in Kansas it was flat and when you looked outside you could see more than just up. I looked out the front door to watch the sky but all I saw was rain and trees, trees, and more trees. Oh the hills.

Hooray! The boys have read over 10 books this summer so they will get a free gift from the Library. I think they get to choose a book but can't remember. If you haven't already checked out the Deanboysreading blog do. You will be able to see all the books they have read. Thier favorites of the week and even vote on your favorite books.

4th of July Weekend

We had a fun weekend up in Cincinnati. Along with Tim and Chrystal we stayed at Great Wolf Lodge next to Kings Island. The boys really enjoyed being able to go down all but one slide at the park. Their favorite would be a toss up between Coyote Cannon and River Canyon Run. They also spent a lot of time crossing Big Foot Pass and Christopher enjoyed the waves in Slap Tail Pond.

We spent the night Saturday in a Cabin suite, which had a small cabin built in with a bunk bed and small TV.

Everyone had fun and we were all worn out.

Short Week

What a week! I got back into my first full week at work since my Loooong Vacation. I really enjoyed spending time with family and friends. I set up the new blog and also played around a bit with the settings to try and share the boys' agenda. Spending way too much time playing with google calendars. No luck, though, with the calendar posting their Daily agenda.... Christopher went and saw the new Ice Age movie today. He said it was really awesome; they got to sit in the front row, drink Pepsi, and said that Mommy, Jonathan, and I have to go see it. Jonathan visited the museum and made a large paper flower for Mommy. It was hard to decipher what all he saw at the museum as he incorporates stories in with the telling of his visit. He did, however, make mention of seeing a real bow-and-arrows and a gun, which was used on bad people. Both Naomi and I had the day off but it was very busy running errands all around town. The good news is that lots was accomplished, the bad news was that I missed nap time and didn't play any video games.... Oh! Naomi adds that she did her very first leg amputation today and it went well. Ok, so maybe she likes to work on her day off, but *cough, cough* who doesn't *cough, cough*.... Anywho, all's well in SO OH (Southern Ohio)! Wishing everyone a Happy 4th!

P.S. Happy Birthday Jeremy!!!!!

The New Blog

I created a new blog for the boys nightly reading, and I added it to list in this blog so you can see what books they are reading over the summer. Starting this week we are going to the library and picking out 1 book each and then reading them before bed. So far so good. To see what books they have been reading head to deanboysreading.blogspot.com.
